DIE HEIMAT - WWII Short
Prairie Star Productions supports and encourages the
production of student films and is currently involved in
supporting the production of
"Die Heimat", a WWII
Short written by two Northern Illinois University
students. The filmmakers are currently casting
WWII Re-enactors for several parts in this short film.
You must be a WWII Re-enactor to qualify for a role in
this film, or be well versed in WWII history and have
access to a WWII period correct uniform and blank firing
weapon.
The
short story, “Die Heimat”, tells the story of one US
infantryman who befriends a German POW after a raid and
makes an effort to show that humanity can exist among
enemies.
This will be an all volunteer project, but they promise
everyone involve a great time and are planning on giving
a copy of the film and end credit to each participant.
They are also planning on providing some ammo to cover
participant’s expenses. Any additional donations to the
project in the way of props, vehicles, food for snacks
and meals, ammo, in-kind services, would all be greatly
appreciated and would receive an additional credit in
the film as a sign of their appreciation.
Plans for the film include submitting it to several
short film festivals through out the year.
